Day of departure and first meeting with Holland

Here we are. Today is the 19th of April, it's 23:50 and we almost start our journey. All the luggage is packed, our hearts are ready, too. Despite the fact that we are all quite nervous, we believe that this journey will be wonderful.
It's very quiet in the bus, because everyone's sleeping except me and Alyona. We're talking about Holland, our hopes and wishes. About 2 a.m. we stop in some cafe to have an early breakfast (or very late dinner). But we don't think about food - all of our thoughts are about Holland. We are eating delicious pancakes with coffee and discussing our flight, because some of people in the group have never travelled by plane.

Moscow, Domodedovo
And now we're in Moscow. All the  procedures in the airport are very easy to pass. Our teachers, Daria Vyacheslavovna and Alyona Pavlovna, are eager to answer our questions and help us. Actually, it's necessary in the early morning.
After all the custom and passport controls we have more than 2 hours before departure, so some of us are learning texts of presentations by heart, others are chilling out in Duty-Free. Airport is a very strange place. Here you can find people of very different nationalities. But in fact, it's a place of neutrality and equality. Every airport seems to be a small centre of world where different people are together.

Flight gives us a wonderful chance to sleep after the hard night. By the way, it's a really comfortable plane with shining and polite stewardesses. We have a kind of an European breakfast (as we know it from the movies, hah).
Bye-bye, Russia

3.5 hours have passed very quickly and we're in Switzerland. As for me personally, it's such an unknown, far-far world, it's like a famous film: huge and extremely clean airport decorated in cool metallic tones. And people. They don't look like people we are used to meeting with. Unfortunately, we don't have enough time to look around, but Switzerland is really impressive.

The second flight lasts only 1.5 hours. But almost nobody is sleeping. Well, who can sleep when it's so scary and exciting?

We are lucky, because Holland meets us with very nice weather. But actually, we don't care about it - we are so happy to meet our foreign friends again! Honestly, it's just impossible to describe all the emotions and feelings with words. You can only imagine it.

Way to our new home

Modern Almere

Today we have a free-time day, so after meeting with our friends and familiarity with their parents we're going home to relax, take a shower and leave luggage.

Everything around us seems so strange! Different people, different buildings, different kinds of architecture.

It's 7 p.m. and we're going to the centre of our city Almere. It's a really modern and nice place with thousands of bikes. Today our friends are going to show us the downtown area and the main interesting places there.

After the exciting stroll, we're going home. Tired, but extremely happy.
